No Jacket, a mylar dust jacket has been added. The Very Good binding is green paper over boards, front shows the Oz characters with lettering in white, yellow and light blue, spine shows lettering plus an image of Dorothy and Toto, rear cover shows the characters with sign “To The Emerald City”, shelf-wear, corner-wear, edge-wear. The binding is tight and pages are clean with some toning, page 43 has tape repaired tear. Black-and-white illustrations by Rita fava throughout the book. Book Measures 5.3″ wide x 7.5″ tall.

Lyman Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American journalist and playwright: he was born in Chittenango, New York. From 188o he was on the editorial staffs of newspapers in South Dakota and Chicago. Although he wrote other books, including Mother Goose in Prose (1897), it is for those about Oz he is remembered. The Wizard of Oz (which was made into a musical comedy and much later a motion picture) was first published in 1900 and The Land of Oz in 1904
