Description

Very good, colorful dust jacket with a Brodart protective covering. The book is bound in light tan cloth over boards with bold brown lettering on the spine. Front cover rubbed. Pages clean and binding is tight. Fine B&W illustrations throughout. The dust jacket illustration  and the frontispiece is a reproduction from a mural Tom Lea painted for the U.S. Post Office in Odessa, TX.  The Texas Longhorn made more history than any other breed of cattle the world has ever known.  This is their story, told by a born teller of tales, who knows that legend and folklore are proper parts of history.  J Frank Dobie has many books including, Apache Gold, Yaqui Silver, and Coronado’s Children.
