About the book: (from the dust jacket)
In 1957 Eddie Wolpin of Famous Music offered Hal David and Burt Bacharach a room with a piano and suggested that they write songs together. Because Hal and Burt liked what they had heard of each other’s work, they decided to give it a try. After a few songs that didn’t become hits, they wrote “The Story of My Life, followed by “Magic Moments.” Both became hits at the same time and the names Bacharach and David began to sound as right together as the words and music of their songs. When Hal and Burt met Dionne Warwick in the early 1960’s, they loved the way she sang, and started writing and producing all of her recordings. Almost every Bacharach and David hit from then on was introduced by Miss Warwick, and so we now leave it to her to introduce this wonderful book.
