The Very Good binding is staple bound, paper over boards with a paper spine, the front cover shows an illustration of a man laughing in a field with animals with blue and black lettering, the rear cover is advertising for Little Golden Library. The binding shows minimal wear at the corners, front cover and spine. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The color illustrations by J. P. Miller can be found at every turn of the page. First Edition. Little Golden Book “A” on last page signifies that this is a First Edition.
About the author:
Gertrude Crampton has written THE GOLDEN CHRISTMAS BOOK and three popular Little Golden Books, TOOTLE, SCUFFY THE TUGBOAT, and Noises and Mr. FLIBBERTYJIB, as well as a shelf of textbooks. Once a teacher, she went on to editing children’s books and thence to writing them.
About the illustrator:
J.P. Miller has designed characters and backgrounds for Disney feature pictures and prepared Navy films during World War II. His first book illustration were those for Margaret Wise Brown’s WONDERFUL STORY Book, followed by the Little Golden Books LITTLE PEEWEE and TOMMY’S VONDERFUL RIDES.
