About the author: (from the dust jacket of I Need All The Friends I Can Get)
When this son of a St. Paul, Minnesota, barber and devoted father of five little Peanuts became Doctor of Humane Letters of Anderson (Indiana] College in 1963, college president Dr. Robert H. Reardon summed up Schulz’s contribution to the contemporary scene: ” Into a jungle of impossible heroes, sick jokes, violence and crime sometimes known as the funnies,’ he has brought the delightful humor of children who often speak in overtones which register in the mind and in the heart.” After reading I NEED ALL THE FRIENDS I CAN GET, we think you’ll agree.
