But Quentin and Archie have a wonderful life in the warm, happy Roosevelt households-at the White House and at the family’s summer home at Oyster Bay, New York. There are many pets and much excitement-like the time Quentin sneaked Algonquin, the pony upstairs to see Archie, who was sick in bed with the measles. And there is always fun to be had with Father when he isn’t busy running the country.
Life was never dull for the Roosevelts, nor is this lively loving account written much as the real Quentin might have, but of course never did. Rocco Negri’s vividly realistic illustrations show the Roosevelts in rich detail.

F. N. MONJO was born in Stamford, Connecticut. He is an editor of children’s books and lives in New York City with his wife, who is a teacher, and their four children.
Mr. Monjo is the author of INDIAN SUMMER, another I CAN READ History Book.
About the illustrator (from the dust jacket)
ROCCO NEGRI was born in Italy and went to high school in Argentina. He attended the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Mr. Negri has illustrated several books for children and covers for The Reporter magazine. In 1968, he had a one-man show of his work in Argentina. He and his wife, Becky, live in Ridgewood, New York, with their two children, Gene and Ronnie.
