Near Fine dust jacket, a mylar dust jacket has been added, price-clipped. The Near Fine binding is white paper over boards with a color illustration of Santa putting on his boots, black lettering on front cover, black lettering on spine, rear cover has an illustration, stockings with Santa and reindeer with black printing. The book cover and dust jacket have the same illustrations. The binding is tight and pages are clean. Errol Le Cain’s lovely illustrations can be found on every page as well as the dust jacket. The “1” is present on the number line on copyright page which is the designation of first edition.

Mathew Price was born in ‘Thurlestone, England, and educated at various schools (t0o many, he claims), including London University. He has worked in many areas of publishing – selling in a bookshop, editing, and most recently, designing and producing books for various publishers. His chief interest has always been in children’s stories, and The Christmas Stockings is only the latest of several delightful children’s books he has written. He and his Hawaiian wife Noe, have two adopted Korean children, Kaleo and Miranda.

Errol Le Cain was born in Singapore- but has lived in England since he was 15 years old. Although he never received formal art training, he has been illustrating children’s books since 1967 – so many of them that he has currently lost count. He won the Kate Greenaway Award in 1985 for his illustration of Hiawatha’s Childhood. He lives and works in the city of Bristol.
