About the book: (from the dust jacket)
You hear folks say Brer Rabbit is full of tricks. But what some folks call tricks 1S Just animal sense. He was born little, and the littler creatures are, the more sense they’ve got to have, because they need it. Brer Bear may be strong, and Brer Fox may be sly, but Brer Rabbit, he can outdo both of them.

Jump Again! presents Brer Rabbit at his lippity-clippity best, in his dapper courtship days when most all the folks in Hominy Grove– horn, claw, and wing– live 1n cahoots like they’ve never had a falling out. Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox have their fusses, but when it comes to romance, Brer Rabbit just naturally shakes the eyelids off all the others. And you best believe he knows how to win a gal’s heart.

About the author: (from the dust jacket)
JOEL CHANDLER HARRIS collected these Brer Rabbit folktales from Southern blacks and retold them in language he hoped would give the tales a genuine feeling of the Old South, Born in Mississippi, acclaimed composer VAN DYKE PARKS put the stories to music in 1984, and his album Jump! led to the recent HBJ book and a major theatrical production. It was a stroke of luck when Parks came in contact with award-winning artist Barry Moser.

About the illustrator: (from the dust jacket)
BARRY MOSER. The illustrator of more than eighty books, Moser was well known for his dazzling wood engravings. His watercolors add new depth and detail to these remarkable tales for readers of all ages.
