About the book: (From the book cover.)
ANYONE CAN PAINT–I Promise is Robert Garden’s assurance that if you can read directions, you too can start with oil paints on a palette and S brush and complete a satisfactory replica of this painting.

The step-by-step instructions are found inside this book, nothing is left to trial and error. The book includes the directions for four different paintings, which should be sufficient for you to gain enough confidence to begin creating your own compositions.

The author, a master artist and teacher, has been painting since he was eight years old and has been teaching painting for the past decade. He has developed a method of teaching that eliminates a lot of the unnecessary trial and error of older methods and has written this book as a tool for sharing his techniques with others.

A series of step-by-step photographs accompanied by detailed instructions for every stroke of the brush will help the beginner get off to the right start for many pleasurable hours of painting and perhaps discover a real talent for painting.

Since Mr. Garden’s students range in age from eight to eighty, it is supposed that this book will appeal to as wide an audience as is possible. The only prerequisite for learning to paint is the desire to paint, and following the directions in this book will take you from the beginning to the end of three compete paintings. We hope you enjoy it.
