About the book (from the dust jacket)
The ottoman-a small footstool set on little brass wheels-can see the lady’s chair through the parlor doorway. He is unhappy, but what can he do? Like the rest of the furniture, he and the lady’s chair can only sit and wait to be rearranged, or sold, or broken and abandoned.
In this unusual story, patience and faithfulness are rewarded, and the very special bond between the lady’s chair and the ottoman is revealed.
