Margaret Taylor Burroughs showed talent both as a writer and as an artist at a very early age. She has won awards for her art work which she has exhibited both here and abroad, and has had many articles published. She is also the author of Did You Feed My Cow?
Mrs. Burroughs is presently a professor in humanities at Kennedy-King Community College in Chicago, and in her work, emphasizes African American culture and arts. Whenever she finds time from her active life as a community leader, she studies and travels abroad.
About the illustrator (from the dust jacket)
Ted Lewin has illustrated numerous books for children and is planning a trip to Africa to do research for more. He has wrestled professionally, and is interested in skin diving and tropical fish. He and his wife, Betsy, a greeting card designer, live in Brooklyn.
